SONOMA WEDDING

Every bride loves her wedding gown, but Kathleen had reason for special pride: She had made it herself. The lovely setting for her May wedding was the old Depot Hotel in Sonoma, which features a swimming pool surrounded by a garden patio. The reception was filled with music: A jazz quintet played, Randy’s niece sang “Somewhere over the Rainbow,” and Randy—a musician himself—serenaded his new bride. To get a shot of the wedding party—some 90 people—Ken mounted a ladder placed near the edge of the pool. Afterward, Ken created intimate natural-light portraits of Randy and Kathleen at the nearby Buena Vista Winery.
